Making a Real Difference to People's Lives

Explore Past Activities

At ICCF we strongly believe that young people and parents, working together, will achieve their greatest potential through a whole family participation in our study support and literacy programs.

Our activities include the provision of a drop in centre facilities that is open to the general public and service users from 9: am to 5: pm Mondays to Fridays.

However the centre is open from 10: am to 4: 30 pm every Saturday during school term and in holidays for special supplementary programmes designed specifically for homework- support to those who are under-achieving at school and are in need of extra coaching in various subjects.

We have a referral network arrangement with other training providers through referral procedures and partnership network system.

The centre currently has 35 registered young members who regularly attend to access various activities and programmes.

We offer basic training skills, personal development to improve the quality of their lives and to encourage participants realise their creative potential.

Additional service offered includes:  The provision of information and advice guidance support as well as other activities that are tailored to individual needs, building individual aspirations and therefore creating a strategy for future employment prospects.

The result of all these is to develop motivated people in the community especially amongst the young adults to foster a sense of community belonging, raising pride and self-esteem.

Over the years, we have built a range of short term and long-term project programmes and activities. (See some pictures in appendix) for disengaged and disaffected and socially excluded young people in order to make them realise their full potential and also release their creative talents through life learning skills such as communication, social integration, team work and confident building.

It must be mentioned that we have been able to deliver our aims and objectives successfully as a result of the hard work and support of our service users, clients, volunteers’ management committee members, the local authority and our funders, parents and carers and teachers.

Our organisation is also been privileged to sharing good practice and partnerships links with various local organisations such as the local police, African Health Promotion Forum, B& D Training Partnership network, EMPA, social services, CVS, community Empowerment Network, CEMVO, B&D Age Concern and many more including the local forums groups.
